Hey Guys, Over Here, This Is How Look To Sharp Whatever The Occasion
Some men don’t have any trouble when it comes to dressing for an occasion; they always seem to get it right and enjoy the art of looking smart. Then there are those who don’t think they need to bother and usually let themselves and everyone else down with their slip-shod approach. And then there’s the third group; those who think they know what to wear and put a lot of effort into only to get it wrong every time.
That’s men for you.
So for those who need a little guidance to what to wear on certain occasions, here are a few tips.
Tip #1 – Following The Workplace Dress Code
Obviously if you work in manufacturing or the service industries your dress code is pretty much sorted with the type of job you do. For those in admin or office employment you may find yourself turning up every day in a suit. But there is a growing trend it seems in office-based establishments to go for the “smart casual” attire. This would consist of smart trousers/slacks (not jeans) and either a shirt of muted colour or a button down shirt and fitted jumper. The idea of smart casual is to look professional without being too showy or flamboyant. Needless to say, a tie may be appropriate if attending meetings, and this can be your nod towards the quirky or colourful to add a little bit of interest and charm.
Tip #2 – Eating Out
It could be an evening romantic dinner with your partner or simple meal with your pals at lunchtime, either way if you combine dark or medium toned chino’s with a pretty snazzy casual shirt you will be doing two things here – 1) looking respectable for any eatery you end up at and 2) will be properly dressed should the meal lead on to something else, perhaps a trip to the cinema or night club or cocktail bar. Looking good for any occasion here is what it is all about.
Tip #3 – Wedding Day Attire
It is nearly always a suit. Unless it’s a particularly quirky or unconventional wedding, a proper full-on suit, maybe with waistcoat, is usually the order of the day. The thing is, you don’t want to go buying a new one every time you suddenly find you’ve a wedding to go to! So really, it’s well worth giving some serious thought to your wedding suit and maybe even have one custom made by a bespoke tailor. That way you’re covered for every eventuality. Pale grey or blue is usually the colour of choice for wedding suits, but really it is up to you and what you feel comfortable in. The other advantage to a bespoke suit is the fact that if you do have some other engagement to attend that requires extra sophistication; your wedding suit will cover that occasion to.
So there it is guys, three great ways to ensure you look the part when you need to look smart.
